well -- I had to downgrade to 2.0 for that matter, since 2.4 has 
disappeared from the archives :-(

Anyway, it is reported to be fixed upstream in 2.6.3 (see 
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=346728) I'll look forward to 
this...
