The ipcCreate: /usr/lib/squid/diskd_daemon: (2) No such file or directory error message seen in your logs is a bug where the default for diskd_program doesn't match where the daemon is installed (installed as diskd-daemon).
Fixed by http://www.squid-cache.org/Versions/v2/2.6/changesets/10880.patch Workaround set diskd_program to the correct path. Regards Henrik
