This is error 
http://www.squid-cache.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=1684
and it's fixed by applying 
http://www.squid-cache.org/Versions/v2/2.6/squid-2.6.STABLE1-20060727.diff
against the Debian Sources for 2.6.1!
