I will changed the ppd. If You are sure about this please go ahead and close
this bug. Obviously, since it hits me out of the blue I can't reproduce it.
If it happens again with the new driver I will just open a new one. If You
are really sure about it just forward the bug to gimpprint, if such a thing
is allowed.

It looks gimpprint or gs-esp problem rather than cupsys.
Could you try other PPD? For example foomatic-filters with hplip or hpijs.
