Hi all,
I tried to reproduce the bug, too. I follow all the steps suggested by
Michelle, but it seeems that mc allows to see the ~/bin, /sbin and
/usr/sbin directory as well as all the others.
I exported the path, as suggested, and I create a ~/bin with a simple
file:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] export
PATH=~/bin:/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/X11R6/bin
[EMAIL PROTECTED] echo "#!/bin/bash" > ~/bin/test-the-path
[EMAIL PROTECTED] echo "echo $PATH" >> ~/bin/test-the-path
[EMAIL PROTECTED] chmod 744 ~/bin/test-the-path
[EMAIL PROTECTED] mc

from mc I tried to find and complete the name of the dir, using ESC+TAB,
and mc successfully find ~/bin.
Then I tried to execute the ~/bin/test-the-path shell script and mc
suggested the C-o typing to see the results in the shell:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]/bin]$ ./test-the-path
/home/ste/bin:/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/sbin:/usr/sbin
[EMAIL PROTECTED]/bin]$

So it seeems it work fine, isn't? Michelle, could you suggest a futher
test or something else to try to reproduce your issue.
Thank you in advance

Regards

SteX
