One of the comments on this report mentions that ddclient seems to cache the active DNS server at the time the daemon is started. This is in case probably the fact, because AFAIR the libc will read resolv.conf only once during program startup, so it seems believable.
However, there is no easy fix to this, I have no idea how to tell libc
to reload resolv.conf.
A work around is not to use the daemon mode of ddclient.
