You're referring to the New Account Hierarchy Setup druid that is launched from the File->New File menu command. This behaviour is not special to USD, it happens in other currencies too. I see the same thing in GBP. £15.25 == 15 + 1/4 £9.50 == 9 + 1/2 This string is only displayed during the processing of the druid and the amount is correctly entered once the druid completes. This behaviour is unexpected but temporary.
