A kernel downgrade might be the easiest temporary workaround for
this.
This is an incompatibility that emerged between some debug code that
was added to the linux kernel, and some black magic trickery in the
cdparanoia codebase.

However that patch will not merge nicely with the existing Debian
patchset.
Another temporary fix is to compile one's own kernel and comment
out the debug logging as described on the LKML:
