tags 143559 + wontfix thanks Tagging 'wontfix' as the patches are for a different version of the telnet source (inetutils), so I can't apply them, but leaving open for reference and merging with #65487 (wrong priority) because they are aspects of the same thing: Debian should have a SSL enabled telnet[d] with an active upstream as the default telnet.
To do this, someone (possibly me) needs to apply the above-mentioned patches to the latest inetutils.
