Hi, I'm interested in packaging a game for Debian (a Linux derivative - http://www.debian.org ), called vulcan ( http://www.fzort.org/mpr/projects/vulcan/ ). Apparently, according to http://www.fzort.org/mpr/projects/vulcan/README.txt the 3D models used were made by you:
""" The 3D models used in the program were originally created by Renzo del Fabbro, and downloaded from the site www.3dcafe.com. The meshes were extracted from the original 3DS file and processed by a mesh simplification program. I couldn't locate the original author on the internet (Renzo, are you out there?), but as far as I can tell the models are in the public domain. Please mail me and let me know if that's not the case. """ I could only use them if the license is clarified, and if their license makes them free ( Debian Free Software Guidelines - http://www.debian.org/social_contract ) to be used, modified and redistributable. Of course credit would be given. Public domain would be OK, as well as many other licenses (GPL, BSD, ...). Otherwise I could not use them iun this project. Could you please clarify the license of those models? The models are named: "bishop", "king", "knight", "pawn", "queen" and "rook" in the game. I don't know if that's their original name.
