these permissions are set by hotplug using the /etc/hotplug/usb/libhid*
files.
Moreover, the hidups driver you're using is being replaced by newhidups.
But the version in 2.0.3 has a severe bug, so the best is to wait for
2.0.4 (I've released -pre2 this week...) which will solve your problem.
