Hello Marco! I have finally had a chance to try a few new kernels. I was unable to get 2.6.15 to work with my hardware (the cx88xx capture cards seems to cause a kernel panic on bootup.)
I was able to get ALSA and video devices from udev using 2.6.17-ck1 though, so it looks like the issue is resolved. Thank you for your time. .b.
