Package: flightgear Version: 0.9.10-2 Flightgear started crashing on startup about a week ago. Instead of creating a window, it blanks the whole screen, does not respond to the keyboard or mouse, freezes the whole system (the Alt-Fx keys don't work), crashes the kernel (the system doesn't shut down immediately when I press the power button, as it normally does), and requires a reboot. Flightgear was installed directly from the Debian packaging system, along with the necessary libraries and data files. I couldn't find any configuration or log files, and when I tried to log the output the file came up blank. For some reason, it only crashes when I use startx on the command line; when the system boots up with KDM starting flightgear just resets X. The X.Org (version 7.0.0; NVIDIA drivers installed off the NVIDIA website version 1.0-8762; graphics card GeForce FX 5500) log gives this message before the system crashes:
