Hi,

There are various problems with your debconf template. Here are my
comments:

> -_Choices: _list_
> +Choices: _list_

This field should not be marked as translatable.

> -Default: USA
> +# Translators: Enter the country (in uppercase and in English) where your
> +# language is mostly spoken, for example FRANCE for French or GERMANY for
> +# German
> +_Default: USA[ default country]

But this one should be, as the default for somebody speaking French is
probably not "USA". I've added a comment to be sure translators know how
to translate it.

> -_Description: Location of the modem
> +_Description: Location of the modem:

This one should be formed as a prompt, as warned by lintian:
  W: sl-modem-daemon: malformed-prompt-in-templates sl-modem-daemon/country

> - In which country is your modem located? Please select the telephone system
> used in your country.
> + Different telephone systems are used depending on the country where the

> + the selected country.

Please wrap your lines at around 75 chars.
The long description should give facts, not prompt the user. The most
common error is a question in the long description. I'm not a native
speaker, and I don't know your package, so my description should probably
be improved.

Cheers,
