Greetings. I see this issue on upstream vanilla kernel, self-compiled, on a ThinkPad T14 AMD Gen 5. So I think I can confirm that this is an upstream kernel issue.
I have seen this both with shutdown and reboot with AFAIR any 7.1 kernel. 7.0 has been fine. It does not happen all the time but most of the attempts to reboot or shutdown the laptop fail like this: Black screen, but laptop power LED still on. Sometimes also the fan can be still heard. Some of the times I waited for minutes, but no change. Work-around is to force power off by pressing power button long enough. I am using Runit instead of Systemd so this issue does not seem to be related to PID 1. Best, -- Martin
