This also affects curl, see for example its --xattr entry (didn't check
for other instances):

When saving output to a file, tell curl to store file metadata in
extended file attributes. Currently, "curl" is stored in the "cre‐
ator" attribute, the URL is stored in the "xdg.origin.url" at‐
tribute and, for HTTP, the content type is stored in the
"mime_type" attribute. If the file system does not support extended
attributes, a warning is issued.

The man page looks generated by a custom tool, and it's using «.IP».
I feel this will be a trickle of affects, as people accidentally stumble
over these (if they notice, and feel like reporting). I just by chance
noticed this now, when I was looking (for unrelated reason) for xattr
support in curl.
