Dear Maintainer, * What led up to the situation? The playback of certain sid modules is corrupted without C64 kernal/basic/chargen roms. For example, using the integrated support for modland, play the module Chimera.sid by Rob Hubbard (modland.com:/HVSC/MUSICIANS/H/Hubbard_Rob/Chimera.sid) and notice that audio is garbled nonsense. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? 1) apt install open-roms 2) Modified the following options in ~/.config/ocp/ocp.ini: kernal=/usr/share/open-roms/C64/kernal basic=/usr/share/open-roms/C64/basic chargen=/usr/share/open-roms/C64/chargen * What was the outcome of this action? The music played back fine * What outcome did you expect instead? During installation, recommend the open-roms package for better sid playback compatibility Thanks, chip -- System Information: Debian Release: 13.5 APT prefers stable-security APT policy: (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: arm64 (aarch64) Kernel: Linux 6.12.90+deb13.1-arm64 (SMP w/4 CPU threads) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_WARN, TAINT_CRAP Locale: LANG=C.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=C.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages opencubicplayer depends on: ii libancient2 2.2.0-1+b1 ii libasound2t64 1.2.14-1 ii libbz2-1.0 1.0.8-6 ii libc6 2.41-12+deb13u3 ii libcjson1 1.7.18-3.1+deb13u1 ii libdiscid0 0.6.4-2+b2 ii libflac14 1.5.0+ds-2 ii libfreetype6 2.13.3+dfsg-1+deb13u1 ii libgcc-s1 14.2.0-19 ii libgme0 0.6.3-7+b2 ii libjpeg62-turbo 1:2.1.5-4 ii libmad0 0.15.1b-11+b1 ii libncursesw6 6.5+20250216-2 ii libpng16-16t64 1.6.48-1+deb13u5 ii libsdl2-2.0-0 2.32.4+dfsg-1 ii libstdc++6 14.2.0-19 ii libtinfo6 6.5+20250216-2 ii libvorbisfile3 1.3.7-3 ii sensible-utils 0.0.25 ii zlib1g 1:1.3.dfsg+really1.3.1-1+b1 Versions of packages opencubicplayer recommends: ii freepats 20060219-4 ii opencubicplayer-doc 1:3.0.1+ds-1 opencubicplayer suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
