There had not been a release of steam-launcher for several months, so the steam-devices udev rules were not updated. There was a new beta release today, which I'll upload to experimental soon.

debian does not recognize new steam controller puck

Depending what feature of Debian you are trying to use with the 2026 Steam Controller, it might require a new version of the Linux kernel, or SDL (libsdl3-0), or the Steam Client.

The udev rules shipped in steam-devices already give "raw HID" access to all devices with Valve's vendor ID, so that's likely to cover the 2026 Steam Controller even without updates.

`./hardwareupdater.x86_64 --show-all-devices` show nothing

As far as I'm aware, Debian does not provide a program named "./hardwareupdater.x86_64". What is this program and who/where does it come from?
