file package maintainer here ...

Dear maintainer,

the next version 5.47 of the file package is currently in experimental,
and as I've learned via the pseudo excuses¹, this introduces a regression
in your autopkgtest².

Quite frankly, I couldn't find how that relates to the file/libmagic
package. Perhaps this is pure coincidence, then feel free to close this
report right away. All is fine if file can eventually migrate to
testing :)

If there is indeed a need for an adjustment, I suggest the following
approach: Prepare an updated package with a versioned dependency on file
1:5.47. Then wait until I upload file to unstable, planned for next
weekend, then upload your new version. Let me know if you need more time
or have other ideas about this.

Kind regards,

    Christoph
