I will upload a temporary matplotlib version with a notice of this
problem in README.Debian not later than tomorrow (there is an open issue
with tar that break matplotlib building I would like to solve before I
can do a safe upload).

version (updated with upstream version and with numpy support) will have
all the dependencies correctly set.

Thanks for your report.
