It's that time of year again: a new GNOME Shell release has changed the API presented to extensions, and therefore requires changes in GNOME Shell extensions.

From a quick look at upstream, it seems that code changes were required, but there is no formal release yet with those changes in it.

GNOME Shell 50.0 is currently available from experimental. If the changes that are necessary for GNOME 50 are backwards-compatible with GNOME 49, please upload them to unstable, similar to what was done for gnome-shell-extension-arc-menu. If not, please upload them to experimental to start with, and then re-upload to unstable when the GNOME 50 transition begins, similar to what was done for src:gnome-shell-extensions.

When the rest of the necessary packages are ready and the release team gives the go-ahead to do the transition, bug reports like this one will be raised to serious.

Thanks,
