Standards-Version is outdated because the Debian Policy has not changed
crucially so affected this package. The version can be bumped literally
without any changes. It does not mean that the package completely lost
maintenance.
As regards the new upstream release, thus far there was no update request and
the package works fine after the latest NMU. Version 4.0.0 with patches is
still sufficient.
It would not be difficult to sync the package with the latest release. But
there has not been a need until now. Frankly, the d/watch file was broken and
uscan(1) did not work, though, I am subscribed to notifications directly from
GitHub and I receive emails on new releases.

I have pushed [1] an update to version 4.2.1 to Salsa. You can review my
changes. It is much more convenient from terminal, for example with the
following command to view changes only in the debian/ folder.
git diff debian/master..mymedia/master -- debian
I appreciate any feedback. Definitely, I have to replace the pkg-config build
dependency with pkgconf to fix the Lintian warning, check the update with
dependants, notably Telegram Desktop. And then I will upload the package, I
think it will happen before the weekend.
