Alastair, could you add the attached patch backported from 2.6.0? The problem is old, but we are having a new class of cases on ppc64el (see e.g. #1129586). The libtool change does not change the default, but it gives packages the option to opt out of -nostdlib with --enable-cxx-stdlib. Thanks Adrian
