In my system I could never reproduce this problem: when the screensaver
is active, OSD messages don't show up. Probably I have a smarter X
server or window manager..

Anyway, I published version 0.11.1 which disables messages during
screen saving periods. However, it only works with gnome-screensaver,
not xscreensaver, because neither gnome-screensaver nor xscreensaver
implement the X screen saver extension (XScreenSaver(3)), so there isn't
any standard way to find out when the screensaver is active. At least
gnome-screensaver sends D-BUS signals for this...

  Regards.
