Worked fine in Sarge. My etc/aliases file is identical in Etch to that in Sarge. I have Etch installed on two machines and am unable to get root mail. If I send a mail message to root using 'mail root' as a command, the message gets sent to my ISP. It then is returned with an error message because [EMAIL PROTECTED] is not identifiable, but my email address, which exim4 inserted into the 'From' field is identifiable. I assume, but am not sure that the root mail from apcupsd is also sent to my ISP where it dies since the 'From' field is not identifiable. I can't find a difference between the Sarge and Etch exim4 config files to account for this. Disabling the rewrite of addresses does not stop this problem, only removes my email address from the 'From' field so the ISP doesn't know where it came from and can't complain.
