And given that survival just updated at CRAN where they test against all reverse dependencies we are "almost certain" it will work with a current version. Or, in the case of failure, that the issue will be known at CRAN too and hence be an upstream issue for popEpi. And that is the case here: https://cran.r-project.org/package=popEpi highlight the failed report in https://cran.r-project.org/web/checks/check_results_popEpi.html and sets a Jan 31 deadline.
