Hi,

I had a look into this bug and I think I've found a patch which
I pushed to some freshly create repository on Salsa:

https://salsa.debian.org/debian/cpm/-/blob/master/debian/patches/libxml-2.14.patch?ref_type=heads

The package builds with this patch as you can see in Salsa CI[1].

However, I think some review is needed. The upstream test does not work
at package build time for technical reasons I gave in another patch[2].
But also my manual tests leaded to different issues which did not
convinced me we do our users a favour to pretend this package is working
properly.

I have no idea whether my issues which are mainly connected to the
configuration file are related to the libxml issue and whether these
might be just caused by the patch above. I do not think so since
I had similar trouble on a Trixie system with the old package. In
any case it makes sense to ask for a review before this bug should
be tagged patch.

Besides this actual bug the package does not seem to be maintained
upstream nor in Debian (6 consecutive NMUs). So I'm actually wondering
whether this package should be rather removed from Debian. If there
will be no review or another solution for this problem I will probably
file a pre-removal bug after waiting one month.

Kind regards
    Andreas.
