Hello, Bacula is fully multiple threaded, which means you can issue Bacula commands at any time. Each command must complete (e.g. database listing, ...) prior to issuing the next command, and in some cases, if you attempt to use a tape drive to label a tape and the drive is busy, the command will fail (i.e. return an error).
If you want such an item as you are suggestion (and I don't really think it is needed), please submit a Feature Request to the bacula-users email list. Note, the precise details of a Feature Request are described on the www.bacula.org web site.
