I'm the new maintainer of sbcl. I've seen your bugreport, but I cannot see why this happens. Could you:
1 explain exactly what you mean with "purge the entire common lisp system from my system". What did you do? 2 tell me what is in the directory /usr/lib/sbcl/
I will try to resolve the situation...
