Package: fonts-freefont-ttf Version: 20211204+svn4273-4 Severity: normal X-Debbugs-Cc: [email protected]
Dear Maintainer, In the fonts-freefont-ttf package (20211204+svn4273-4), in the Bold Oblique FreeSans font file only, ligatures tied to the lowercase letter F don't activate when typed (examples: fi, fl, ff, etc). This is not an issue in the other styles for FreeSans (Regular, Bold, and Regular Oblique). I also tested with 20211204+svn4273-2 package on Debian Stable. The bug was present in that package as well. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open a program that supports ligatures. 2. Type "fl", "fi", "ff" into the program. 3. Change the font to FreeSans Bold Oblique in the program. Expected result: The font should use ligatures for fl, fi, ff, etc. Actual result: The ligatures programmed in the font tied to the lowercase F don't activate. If you change to the other font styles (regular, oblique, or bold), the ligatures work. This bug also affects the fonts-freefont-otf_20211204+svn4273-4 package. -- System Information: Debian Release: 13.2 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 6.12.57+deb13-amd64 (SMP w/12 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled -- no debconf information
