Package: freecad
Version: 1.0.0+dfsg-8
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,
I’d like to report a stability issue I’ve encountered with FreeCAD on multiple
Debian systems.
Systems tested:
I’ve reproduced this issue on several machines, including:
Intel i5-12th gen + NVIDIA RTX 3060 (running Debian Trixie)
Intel i5-10th gen + NVIDIA RTX 1650 (running Debian Trixie)
Intel i5-10th gen + Intel integrated graphics (running Debian Trixie)
Raspberry Pi 4 (running Raspberry Pi OS Trixie)
Expected behaviour:
FreeCAD should remain stable.
Actual behaviour:
There is a small but constant chance of FreeCAD crashing on almost any button
press.
Additional notes:
This issue does not occur when using the official AppImage from the FreeCAD
download page, which seems much more stable.
I’m wondering whether a more up-to-date or more stable build of FreeCAD could
be made available in Debian's repositories.
Please let me know if you need logs, backtraces, or a test file, I’m happy to
provide whatever helps.
Thanks,
Luke
