  for slapd I'm not sure anymore. for libnss-ldap/libpam-ldap of course
it's not needed, but the debian package auto-guesses the configuration
from the configuration of that package, and it makes sense to
administrate an ldap server from a host that uses it through nss/pam ;)

  but you're correct, the depends is obviously an abuse.
