I am not sure why you insist about involving a change in trixie to fix 
this bug. I would really like that we have more feedback about that 
change before rushing this change to stable. On the other hand, the 
binutils bug is already fixed, and the dpkg-shlibdeps change is queued 
for the next dpkg upload.

I am still planning an upload to trixie for the next point release, as 
there are other things to fix.

This is also in the stable branch and in the 2.45.1 release.
