I think I understand your point now.
Just to clarify my intention: I added myself as Uploader because I am
prepared to look after issues in this package. Given that upstream is
inactive, I do not expect a high maintenance load.

>From my experience in other teams, moving a package into a team that has
expertise in its area can help in the long run - not because anyone is
"dumping" work, but because having thematically related packages in one
place can attract or retain people who know the field. I have seen this
happen a few times, and that is the reason why I considered the
Multimedia team a suitable home for this package (as for others I moved
earlier).

If this is not the direction the Multimedia team wants to follow in
general, please let me know. I do not want to go against established
practice. I just want to find a sustainable home for the package.
