Dear Maintainer,
* What led up to the situation?
The package has not been updated for more than a year and upstream has
several new major releases (with a lot of updated dependencies).
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
I tried contacting the maintainer (on June 19, 2024 and 21st Sept, 2025),
but did not receive any response yet. I also filed bug reports to update this
package (https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1117009), but did
not receive any response from the maintainer.
In https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1117006#50 it was
suggested that the package can be salvaged. I uploaded the updated package here
(https://mentors.debian.net/package/safeeyes/)
I am still open to co-maintaining the package.
