Dear Maintainer,

Since the python3 package got upgraded to versions above 3.11, this software
no longer works. There is a suggested fix as a PR on the upstream github
at https://github.com/OpenKMIP/PyKMIP/pull/707, but it seems like the
project is abandoned.

Hi Anders,

Sorry for it took me an unusual long time to reply.

What makes you write this? Have you *tried* the Debian package? I'm saying this, because the package already contains SSL context patch which should make it continue to work with Python 3.12/3.13. If that was not the case, the tests would fail, and this would have been reported.

If you still find that pykmip is broken in Debian with Python 3.13, please let me know, and I'll attempt to use the pull request you mentioned (which will mean: remove the current Debian patch).

Please let me know, in the mean time, I'll lower the severity of this bug.

Cheers,

Thomas Goirand (zigo)
