Many thanks for your detailed bug report! As per your recommendation I've enabled the call of the test suite during build (that was BTW easier than expected). Then I tried to reproduce your issue by uploading to debusine target distribution "experimental", but it is still built/auto tested using perl 5.40 [1], hence is the issue was not visible. I see no easy method to reproduce the issue for me (well, I could create locally a chroot with perl-5.42, etc.). Hence I'll mark both tests as "CI only" to disable them for now and will close your bug. I'm subscribed to the issue you opened at upstream, once they provided a fix for the test failure I'll re-enable the tests.
