Package: linux-image-6.17.7+deb14-amd64-unsigned
Severity: important

Hello,

please apply the patch from the AMD developers mentioned in
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/amd/-/issues/4649
i.e.
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/-/project/4522/uploads/220bf055057e9aa7e522409c9cd9aea6/0001-drm-amdgpu-Fix-wait-after-reset-sequence-in-S3.patch

This problem has also hit me, and my bisecting delivered the same result.

Hiere a brief summary of the problem, from that issue (and my report was
similar in another closed-as-duplicate ticket):

On kernel 6.17-rc6 and newer, attempting to enter S3 suspend fails and instead
renders all screens black until the machine is forcefully rebooted. I was able
to track down the issue to commit 440cec4 (drm/amdgpu: Wait for bootloader
after PSPv11 reset), which was introduced to fix #4531 (closed). Reverting it
on top of kernel 6.17.3 fixes the problem completely.

Best regards,
Eduard.
