Bug#1118619: opensysusers: falls over on u! (locked user) type: ignoring invalid entry on line 3 of 'pcscd.conf'

I am willing to sponsor Andrew’s patch for opensysusers, but before doing it I 
noticed the following requirement on LowThresholdNmu:
> Please upload with dgit and commit the fixes to the package VCS

While I have no problem with updating the Salsa repositories, I am not a dgit 
user and am not currently willing to learn new tools for an upload.
Is dgit usage a hard requirement, or would you be OK with a regular SSH upload 
through dput(-ng)?
