I believe gnome-panel needs the linked commit to work with GNOME 49, specifically gnome-session 49 and gnome-settings-daemon 49, currently in experimental. I think the commit is probably safe to be uploaded to unstable now, but I have not tried it. Thank you, Jeremy Bícha
