https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-140459 Do you think you could modify nvidia-legacy-340xx-driver so that it ships your suggestion of minimal xorg.conf (or xorg.conf.d/*.conf snippet)? Section "Device" Identifier "My GPU" Driver "nvidia" EndSection This config is now required when using the nvidia driver. Regards
