Hi,

mips64el has been dropped from Debian testing earlier this year and isn't supported in trixie, nor in forky. Some of the mips64el cross toolchain is in a very sore state and we want to remove it from testing. However, at least via u-boot, these packages are in the key package set. Can you please stop building mips64el qemu targets for now?

Paul

Helmut tried to explain to me in Hamburg why src:cross-toolchain-base-mipsen
is in the key package set. I must admit I didn't understand, but there's
something with qemu IIRC. It might take a bit of work to fix that. Hopefully
you (Helmut) are willing to try again to explain the situation?

There is at least one reason, but there may be more.

u-boot somehow is a key package via d-i iirc.

u-boot build-depends-indep gcc-mips64el-linux-gnuabi64 [!mips64el], gcc-mipsel-linux-gnu [!mipsel]

gcc-mips64el-linux-gnuabi64 is built from gcc-defaults-mipsen

gcc-mips64el-linux-gnuabi64 depends on gcc-14-mips64el-linux-gnuabi64

gcc-14-mips64el-linux-gnuabi64 is built from gcc-14-cross-mipsen

gcc-14-cross-mipsen build-depends on linux-libc-dev-mips64el-cross

linux-libc-dev-mips64el-cross is built from cross-toolchain-base-mipsen

All of these assume amd64 as native architecture.
