Package: python-gtk2
Version: 2.8.2-3.1
Severity: grave
Hi,
I'm in the process of reinstalling my Debian Sid, but some packages that
depends on python-gtk are uninstallable, like Gajim, or have some parts of
them uninstallable, like Gnome deskbar-applet.
If I want to install gajim, I receive the following error :
deus:/var# aptitude install gajim

Resolving dependencies...
The following actions will resolve these dependencies:
Keep the following packages at their current version:
gajim [Not Installed]
python2.4-glade2 [Not Installed]
python2.4-gtk2 [Not Installed]
If I use apt-get install gajim for example :
The following packages have unmet dependencies.
gajim: Depends: python2.4-glade2 (>= 2.6.0)
Depends: python2.4-gtk2 (>= 2.6.0)
E: Broken packages
And the same if I want to install deskbar-applet :
The following packages have unmet dependencies.
deskbar-applet: Depends: python2.4-gnome2 but it is not going to be installed
Depends: python2.4-gnome2-extras but it is not going to be
installed
E: Broken packages
It is weird because python-gtk2 provides python2.4-gtk2
