Thanks for testing and sorry for the poor description. Could you please try the following: * export LC_ALL=C * xterm * screen * mcview /tmp/a * F4 "Hex" For me, this results in the attached. Looks like screen interprets some characters in a special way. With kind regards, Baurzhan.
