Some questions: 1) Can you reproduce this outside pbuilder? For example can you debootstrap a small arm64 chroot and install texlive on it?
2) Can you identify one particular process or binary that takes ages during "Building format(s) --all"? 3) Can you try installing trixie glibc into a bookworm chroot and see what the performance is like? Paolo
