Hi Sam!

Will's patch included below (or anything similar that adds the ability
to tweak realtime settings) is quite central to many multimedia
applications. For one of my packages, it determines the default
configuration I intend to ship with etch. So could you please comment
whether you think this feature will be available in time for etch?
