Package: guix Version: 1.4.0-9 Severity: minor Starting from trixie, the /tmp folder is now located on a tmpfs which by default has a size of 50% of the available RAM. Note that guix-daemon by default again builds under /tmp and this can cause problems when cospicous derivations are built from scratch, e.g. for linux kerneli and other beasts.
I would suggest to add a TMPDIR environment variable for the guix-daemon service and to move directly elsewhere the base directory for such builds, e.g. /var/tmp/guix-builds/ or /var/cache/guix-builds/, to be prepared for such goal at installation time. This is specifically useful when building ISO image from guix-installer, but in general is an hidden issue to consider -cheers -- System Information: Debian Release: 13.0 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'stable'), (500, 'oldstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 6.12.41+deb13-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_OOT_MODULE, TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE Locale: LANG=it_IT.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=it_IT.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages guix depends on: ii guile-3.0 3.0.10+really3.0.10-4 ii guile-3.0-libs 3.0.10+really3.0.10-4 ii guile-gcrypt 0.4.0-5 ii guile-git 0.9.0-3 ii guile-gnutls 4.0.1-2 ii guile-json 4.7.3-3 ii guile-lzlib 0.3.0-2+b1 ii guile-sqlite3 0.1.3-5 ii guile-ssh 0.18.0-3 ii guile-zlib 0.2.2-2 ii libbz2-1.0 1.0.8-6 ii libc6 2.41-12 ii libgcc-s1 14.2.0-19 ii libgcrypt20 1.11.0-7 ii libsqlite3-0 3.46.1-7 ii libssh-dev 0.11.2-1 ii libstdc++6 14.2.0-19 ii netbase 6.5 ii zlib1g 1:1.3.dfsg+really1.3.1-1+b1 Versions of packages guix recommends: ii ca-certificates 20250419 ii guile-avahi 0.4.1-3 ii guile-zstd 0.1.1-6+b1 ii less 668-1 ii nscd 2.41-12 ii systemd 257.7-1 guix suggests no packages. -- Configuration Files: /etc/guix/acl [Errno 13] Permesso negato: '/etc/guix/acl' -- no debconf information
