-d means daemon mode. Please try to launch scim-panel-gtk explicitly before
scim-helper-manager launched,
or scim-helper-manager will launch scim-panel-gtk in daemon mode
automatically (it's hard-coded in the source).
scim-helper-manager will be launched when scim immodule (im-scim.so) is
loaded,
so you might try to find the right point (after starting x11 but before
loading the scim immodule) to launch scim-panel-gtk explicitly.
