Package: liferea Version: 1.14.4-3 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
I run bookworm and keep it fairly up-to-date, and I do have backports enabled (to get some USB fixes in 6.12). For more than a few years (this goes back 5-10 years), when I start liferea, the headline pane gets a random size (or it's the content pane; don't know which). Sometimes just one or two headlines appear and sometimes the headline pane is maximized (content pane is minimized); it's always between those two extremes. Worse, this behavior seems to come and go with releases and updates. When I first started using it years ago, it was well behaved. At some point, it started this misbehavior. A few months ago, it started to behave properly, but the last time it was updated for bookworm (I think; a couple/three weeks ago), it started randomly sizing the headline pane again when starting the program. All I have is pure conjecture: off-by-one, some variable clobbering another, saved sizes not read on startup, something left uninitialized, something unrelated to liferea. That it hasn't been reported until now makes me wonder if I'm the only one affected. One semi-related oddity (which probably should be a separate report, but included here because this is where I have encountered it): when the headline pane is maximized (or content pane minimized), the draggable border is left with *one* pixel row to grab it. Perhaps the headline pane should be limited to 3-4 pixels fewer to give, mmm, shaky users a better chance to grab the draggable border. -- System Information: Debian Release: 12.11 APT prefers oldstable-security APT policy: (500, 'oldstable-security'), (500, 'oldstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 6.12.38+deb12-amd64 (SMP w/32 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/bash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages liferea depends on: ii dbus-user-session [default-dbus-session-bus] 1.14.10-1~deb12u1 ii dbus-x11 [dbus-session-bus] 1.14.10-1~deb12u1 ii dconf-gsettings-backend [gsettings-backend] 0.40.0-4 ii gir1.2-freedesktop 1.74.0-3 ii gir1.2-gtk-3.0 3.24.38-2~deb12u3 ii gir1.2-peas-1.0 1.34.0-1+b1 ii libc6 2.36-9+deb12u10 ii libfribidi0 1.0.8-2.1 ii libgdk-pixbuf-2.0-0 2.42.10+dfsg-1+deb12u2 ii libgirepository-1.0-1 1.74.0-3 ii libglib2.0-0 2.74.6-2+deb12u6 ii libgtk-3-0 3.24.38-2~deb12u3 ii libjavascriptcoregtk-4.0-18 2.48.3-1~deb12u1 ii libjson-glib-1.0-0 1.6.6-1 ii libpango-1.0-0 1.50.12+ds-1 ii libpeas-1.0-0 1.34.0-1+b1 ii libsoup2.4-1 2.74.3-1+deb12u1 ii libsqlite3-0 3.40.1-2+deb12u1 ii libwebkit2gtk-4.0-37 2.48.3-1~deb12u1 ii libxml2 2.9.14+dfsg-1.3~deb12u2 ii libxslt1.1 1.1.35-1+deb12u1 ii liferea-data 1.14.4-3 ii python3 3.11.2-1+b1 ii python3-cairo 1.20.1-5+b1 ii python3-gi 3.42.2-3+b1 ii python3-gi-cairo 3.42.2-3+b1 ii python3-notify2 0.3-5 ii python3.11 3.11.2-6+deb12u6 Versions of packages liferea recommends: ii gir1.2-gstreamer-1.0 1.22.0-2+deb12u1 ii gir1.2-notify-0.7 0.8.1-1 Versions of packages liferea suggests: pn kget <none> ii network-manager 1.42.4-1+deb12u1 -- no debconf information
