I would try get in touch with one of them.
The basic idea is that if the package matches an entry on pypi or is
mostly specific to Python programming language, storing that under
python-team would be appropriate. Media players would suit the
multimedia-team.
Note that these teams are for team-maintained packages, which means
that you will need to modify the package Maintainer metadata to set
the team to be the maintainer (and allow team members to modify your
packaging work; you are still kept as an Uploader). You also have a
3rd choice, that is to keep yourself as the sole maintainer as-is but
to store the git packaging repo under salsa.debian.org/debian/ . In
that case, all Debian Developers will be able to co-maintain this
package.
Which one do you prefer? I can help with all 3 scenarios once you have
a decision.
